Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.

The win also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six finals, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game break points in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured the win with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
